THE FALL 🍂 I have always prided myself in being THE FALL 🍂 I have always prided myself in being a ‘positive’ person. Over the years, at different points in time, my friends and other people in my life have told me just how admirable and inspiring my strength during hard times was to them. . So, after moving to the UK in 2020, and my life started to change in every way possible [in addition to the entire world changing simultaneously], it was really confusing to me just how much I struggled mentally. I couldn’t pull myself out of my emotional depths every time something unexpected happened, something didn’t go the way I had hoped, or something popped up that felt overwhelming. I was falling heavily into victim consciousness, limiting beliefs, and self-sabotage as well as ruminating over every. little. thing. I didn’t feel like I met any of it with the same mental fortitude I once could. It was so disorienting. I felt like everything - my life and who I was - was crumbling from underneath me and in front of me. . My thoughts were full of sadness and negativity but, worse than that, I was letting them completely run the show and dampen day after day. Soon, hopelessness set in along with an extreme lack of motivation. I couldn’t see my way out of it but I was desperate to find a way. . First, I sought out professional help and got on a medication to help elevate my mood so I can actually make something of the day. But, I wanted to do more and figure out what might be underneath, what the ultimate cause might have been, how to find it, and what could actually help that didn’t involve taking medicine ... not that there is any judgement around medication. I was just genuinely curious. How can I get back to myself? Or at least figure out how to step into this new version of me? So, I let my curiosity take the lead and started learning about just how powerful our minds are and how the way we CHOOSE to respond to our thoughts can completely change our life. I’m excited to share that there’s something brewing behind the scenes that will shed light on all of the things I’ve been exploring. A new era for Alyson Haley is coming ... stay tuned ✨ #mentalhealth
LIFE UPDATE: We’re moving! . Okay, so we’re o LIFE UPDATE: We’re moving! . Okay, so we’re only going less than half a mile away (from where we were) but, hey, thought I’d fill you in anyway 😅 We have enjoyed the house that introduced us to the area [that we’ve grown to love so much in addition to all of the people we’ve met] so we’re excited to have found a place that allowed us to continue this chapter a little longer! Now, let’s see how long it takes us to unpack with a toddler 😅 Happy weekend friends! 🫶🏼 #lifeupdate #moving
If you found out you were pregnant and (for whatev If you found out you were pregnant and (for whatever reason) you don’t feel ready, this is your reminder that it’ll all be okay. You will shift and pivot. Things will feel hard sometimes but the rewards far and beyond outweigh them. . If you found out you were pregnant and you felt feelings that were outside of what you see in movies, you’re not alone. It can come with an array of feelings. And it doesn’t mean you don’t appreciate the blessing that it is. It’s okay. You’re not alone. And you are going to be okay. I promise.🤍 . If you are about to become a boy mom … this is just one example of how they can so easily and naturally melt your heart with how pure and precious they can be. . This video and these words were so much of what I had wished I had read or could have seen when I found out I was pregnant with Louie. I’m proud of myself for how I’ve grown through the experience — really allowing myself to shed this idea of how life “should” go and challenging myself to define that for myself and really settling into that. It’s still a work in progress, there’s still quite a bit of de-conditioning to do there but I have made progress. This video is such a gift — a true testament to how much love, growth, satisfaction, and pure joy can be experienced when we allow ourselves to embrace the things in life that take us by surprise 🤍 #motherhood #boymom #hearttalks
